Smart Mobility
Smart Mobility has received a great deal of industrial/social attention during the last decade as alternative forms of mobility are introduced with personalized and optimized solutions. Many players are interested to improve mobility technologies and services, such as start-ups, transport operators, transportation agencies, telecom companies and even car-manufactures. Consequently, cutting-edge mobility technologies are being developed and implemented including driverless vehicles, app-based, on-demand and shared-ride services, car and bike sharing, personalized and/or real-time information services. Demand-responsiveness is a key aspect in such solutions where the operations needs to be adapted to the changing demand patterns. Therefore, the design and analysis of Smart Mobility solutions represent a new and very interesting research area. We welcome articles in the field of Smart Mobility, dealing with new developments in theory, analytical and numerical simulation, experimentation and case studies with results of laboratory or field operational tests, always bridging models and technologies under the general theme of Smart Mobility.
